However, wired still doesn't work which is what I was hoping for to avoid all of the desync issues. In my debugging I realized that I had unplugged the wireless dongles so that's why (duh) the controller was no longer working wirelessly. What can I try to get this controller working again?
#Steam controller wired mode not working drivers#
I also used USBDeview to view and uninstall all of the duplicate controller drivers (Vendor ID of 0x28de and a Product ID of 2010). Try to see if that’s the case by using a different USB. Also, after trying wired mode on the controller, the controller no longer works in wireless mode either (stays grey in both wired and wireless modes). If you prefer a wired connection but Steam is not detecting your PS4 DualShock 4 controller, it may be a fault in the cable you’re using. I should of mentioned that I've also tried upgrading the firmware but that didn't change anything. I even tried switching the little circuit board micro usb adapter with the controller that works and still nothing. But it always simply stays grey in the vrmonitor.
In Big-Picture-Mode I got the option to add a new controller, but I don´t get any further from here. I just see a short blink on the steam-button when plugging in. Now my batteries went empty and i plugged in the USB-cable. When I plug it into the computer it beeps properly and I can change the firmware on it, and windows recognizes the device and installs drivers for it. Hi there, i can play with no probs with my Steam Controller in wireless mode. When using wired, it will not even register (grey in the vrmonitor). Or other times it will stay yellow and never turn green unless I continually reset the vrmonitor.
When using it wirelessly, it will work for a little while and then lose it's pose (yellow).
#Steam controller wired mode not working full#
However, full wired doesn't work at all, and after trying wired, now wireless doesn't work either. I was using it wirelessly since I received it and having to wait and continually restart the vrmonitor to get them to sync (turn from yellow to green) was taking a lot of time out of development so I thought I'd go full wired for now.
If your controller still shows issues, consider using alternative third-party apps that do the same thing that the Steam controller drivers do. It's been like this basically since I received it a month or so ago. Furthermore, click on the Steam Input per-game Setting Now hit When Forced On and select OK. I've been having consistent issue with one of my controllers either not registering or not being able to sync (turn from yellow to green in the monitor).
